StudioWavePro’s Echo adds a classic delay effect with three controls: Delay (20–1000 ms) sets the time between repeats, Feedback (0–95%) sets how many repeats you hear before they fade away, and Mix blends the dry signal against the echoes. Four presets cover the famous flavors instantly — Slap (the tight 110 ms rockabilly doubling), Single (one clean repeat), Cathedral (long, washy decay) and Dub (the deep 450 ms reggae-style trail).

The preview is live: press play and drag any slider while listening, exactly like turning knobs on a delay pedal. When you apply, the tool automatically extends the file so the echo tail rings out fully instead of being cut off at the original end point — a detail many online effects get wrong.

Tips

Delay times have personalities: 80–120 ms reads as slapback, 250–350 ms as a distinct echo, 400 ms+ as dub territory.
Past about 85% feedback the echoes barely fade — great for ambient washes, chaotic on busy material. The control caps at 95% so it can never run away to infinity.
Keep Mix around 30–45% for an effect that supports the source; push past 60% only when the echo IS the point.
For rhythmic delays, match the delay time to the song tempo: 60000 ÷ BPM gives one beat in ms (e.g. 120 BPM → 500 ms, or 250 ms for eighth notes). Get the BPM from the Tempo Detector.
The reversed-echo trick: apply Echo, then run Reverse — the tail becomes a swell that builds into each sound.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add an echo to a voice recording online?: Open the Echo tool, drop in the recording, pick the "Single" preset, press Play preview, and adjust Mix to taste. Click Apply and download as MP3 or WAV. For a subtler thickening effect, use "Slap" instead.
What is the difference between echo, delay, and reverb?: Echo and delay are the same thing: distinct repeats of the sound, spaced by a set time. Reverb is thousands of tiny reflections blurred into a wash, like a room’s ambience. This tool does echo/delay; at long settings with high feedback (the Cathedral preset) it approaches a reverb-like wash.
What do Delay, Feedback and Mix actually control?: Delay (20–1000 ms) is the time between repeats. Feedback (0–95%) is how much of each echo is fed back in — 0% gives a single repeat, higher values give longer trails. Mix balances the original signal against the echoes, from dry only to echoes only.
Will the echo tail get cut off at the end of my file?: No — when you apply the effect, the output file is automatically extended by roughly three times the delay time, so the final echoes decay naturally instead of stopping dead at the original end of the audio.
How do I sync the echo to my song’s tempo?: Divide 60,000 by your BPM to get one beat in milliseconds — at 100 BPM that is 600 ms, half of it (300 ms) is an eighth note. Run your track through the Tempo Detector first if you don’t know the BPM, then dial that number into the Delay slider.
Can I preview the echo before applying it?: Yes — press Play preview and all three sliders work live during playback, like a real delay pedal. What you hear is exactly what gets rendered when you click Apply.
