Collapse stereo to mono
The Mono Converter averages all channels of your file into one. For a stereo source, left and right are summed equally into a single channel; multi-channel files collapse the same way. The panel shows what you have (e.g. "2 channels → 1 mono") before you commit, and the conversion is one click with nothing to configure.
Mono is the right format more often than people think: voice recordings gain nothing from stereo, single-speaker playback (phones, smart speakers, PA systems) sums to mono anyway, telephony and IVR systems require it, and a mono WAV is half the size of its stereo equivalent. Converting deliberately also reveals any phase problems hiding in a stereo mix before they surprise you on a mono device.
