Shift the L/R center of a stereo mix
Stereo Balance moves the perceived center of a stereo file: one slider from full left to full right, with "Centered" in the middle and a live readout of the shift as a percentage. It uses an equal-power pan law — the same curve mixing consoles use — so the overall loudness stays constant as you sweep; the image moves without the track getting quieter in the middle or louder at the edges.
The everyday use is repair: recordings where one mic was hotter than the other, interviews that lean to one ear, captures from a device with a mismatched channel. A few percent of correction re-centers them. The creative use is placement — deliberately seating a sound off to one side before layering it with something else.
